Description:

You don’t need any prior singing experience for this 3-part series. If you have a significantly lower voice than mine, I encourage you to instead follow Abram’s first singing lesson. He’ll cover the same material, but his exercises will be in a good range for low voices.

In the first lesson, we’ll cover the most important basics of posture and breathing, and we’ll learn some easy exercises using our speaking voice.

In the second lesson, we’ll learn a few key terms you may have heard before: chest voice, head voice (or falsetto), and mix or “mixed voice”. I’ll teach you my favorite beginner-friendly exercises to warm up and develop these different parts of your voice.

In the third lesson, I’ll take you through a complete, easy beginner warmup that I encourage you to use as your daily warmup before you work on songs. Don’t miss the last video in this series, because I’ll answer some frequently asked questions, like how long to practice and how to keep your voice healthy.

These lessons are formatted so all you need to do is sing along and follow my lead. You should feel comfortable and relaxed, and always feel free to pause the lesson if you need a break. If you're feeling any strain or your voice is tired, pause and pick up where you left off at another time. Now let's get started on your posture and breathing. See you in the next video!
