You said that the white and black things on the piano keyboard are called pitches. I was taught that they are called keys but after meeting you I was convinced of yours. I was wondering,if they are not called keys why is the piano board called "keyboard"

I'm not a vocal instructor but I think I can help here! The white and black things on a piano are called keys and that's the physical object you press when playing it (and why it's called a keyboard). However, when you press a specific key, the piano plays a note at a specific pitch, with pitch here meaning a specific level of how high or low a note is. So the middle C key plays a note at the pitch middle C. I hope that explanation made sense. :)

There is also the idea of a musical key, which is a way to describe how we group musical notes according to what note they're based on, but that's a different concept! Pianos have physical keys on them that represent and play pitches and that should be all you need to know for your question
