    Hello,

my name is Julius and its my second day on 30DaySinger. I trained for 2 hours today, because i had a lot of time to do it. Thats also the reason why i watched 3 or 4 Basic Training Videos more than you should. My Question is, wether i can do that, because my voice still feels good but i`ve read it is stressful for the voice. Im also not completely inexperienced with singing. So can i continue with 2 hours or maybe even more ? And how exactly do i notice that my voice is too stressed ?

    Thanks for a reply :)

    Hi, Julius!

If you have experience singing, and your voice still feels healthy, you can probably handle 2 hours in a day. It may be wise to split it up into a few shorter sessions throughout the day, or to rest your voice by using some practice time to work on ear training and listening to music.

Pro and semi-pro singers regularly attend 3-hour choir rehearsals or sing on longer recording sessions, but they aren't singing the whole time, and they don't do that every day.
If you're feeling pain/strain/hoarseness or just vocal fatigue during or after your practice session, that's a sign to cut back. Pay attention also to the state of your speaking voice (is it hoarse or tired, with more vocal fry than usual?) and how your voice feels the next morning. Sometimes if there is swelling, you won't feel it until the next day.

All that being said, vocal stamina is great- as long as you continue singing with good technique, hydrating, staying healthy, and incoporating plenty of vocal rest.
