How do I choose the right song to practice?

    Hello!

    I've been singing in for fun for a while and would like to improve, that's why I signed up for this :) I'm following a beginner course and would like to know how to choose a song that is right for me to practice (knowing that I have no knowledge of keys...).

    Hi, Celine! Great question. 

    Here's a site that will help you with both - first determine your comfortable vocal range (bottom half of the page, with the orange buttons) and then put your highest and lowest note in the search function to find songs within that range: https://www.myvocalrange.com/yourvocalrange.php.

    I also recommend you try to find good songs by ear - try to sing along with a song by one of the artists you enjoy listening to, and if it's relatively comfortable to sing along with them, then it's a good fit! It's also easier, though not necessary, if the singer has a tone that's somewhat similar to yours.
