    Hi hope you're safe,

I wanted to know when would be the most efficient time to do the pre-performance warmup videos on the day of a performance.

If for example I plan to do performance during an evening will it be okay doing the warm ups in the morning for 30mins or will the effect have worn off by the evening?

Or does it have to be within a closer time-frame to be effective?

    Thanks xx

Hi, KT! I usually plan to begin vocalizing (gently) about an hour or two before a performance - and then if possible, I'll do a quick warmup (just 1-5 minutes of lip trills, MUMs, and NOs) to get my voice balanced and prepared to sing.

Your warmup will not "wear off" in the sense of your voice being "warm". But if you've been speaking all day (and using your "talking voice"), it's a good idea to "reset" with some vocal exercises to reestablish your "singing voice" function and placement. Hope that makes sense! Short answer: do a quick mini-warmup as close to your performance as you can manage, if it's been several hours since your warmup.
