    Hello

    :)

How can we test strain or is this just fatigue?

When I finish doing vocal exercises my throat feels dry and it Feels like the voice has changed very slightly or you need to clear your throat but when I ask the fam they say they don’t hear any changes. Swallowing after feels like an exaggerated swallow or dry.  Talking and singing seems ok. The next day seems to be fine again.

    Thanks

Sometimes its kinda like that feeling when you have talked for a long time and the throat and voice feels different but I don’t think the person your talking to would hear the difference.

I know what you mean! That does sound normal to me. Make sure you're staying hydrated before, during, and after singing (ie: all the time), and give your voice rest. If you still feel vocally tired the next day, take a break! Our vocal folds can swell after prolonged use, and the quickest way to return to normal (no swelling) is to rest completely.

    Hello Camille,

Thanks for the advice :) , I usually drink honey daily, is it okay to drink hot water for the vocal cords?

Sure thing! Absolutely - warm water or herbal tea with honey and lemon is a singer favorite. :)
