What to practice

I'm going through Jonathon's beginner course because  it's more in my  vocal range.  I tried Camille's beginner warm up but the key is too High.  Is it OK to drop the exercises down an octave?  Also, I tried the Bass/Tenor daily routine by Camille and liked that, but is it better to stick with the beginner warm up?  Last question, I sing while I play drums, so the whole posture thing is a question.  Any suggestions.  While going through Jonathon's course he shows many warm up exercises, but because he doesn't have a warm up routine, I'm really not using them.  It would make sense if there was a guide warm up that goes with each course.  Just a thought.  Finally, everyone stay safe and healthy through these  extreme times.

Hi, Chris! Thanks for your questions!

Yes, you're exactly right to drop the octave from what I'm singing. Usually I try to play in the lower octave on the piano as well to provide some support for that - but sometimes I'm just playing your starting note only!

As for a warmup or daily routine, you're welcome to use whatever works for you! As long as you're singing along comfortably and modifying when necessary, it's all fair game.

Good singing posture when seated is certainly possible! Try to sit on the edge of your seat or stool with a tall spine, and as best as you can, keep your chest & ribs lifted. Take low, relaxed belly breaths, and be extra careful to not reach forward or up with your chin.
