Vocal Fry

    Hi Camille,

I have a question on vocal fry today. When using vocal fry on a word, does a singer normally go on into a note afterwards? If so, I just want to go a little more specific. When I do my vocal fry and try to switch into a different register(normally chest, mix, and falsetto), I have almost like a break inbetween. And by break I mean I almost like the break you have between your chest and falsetto when you crack. How can I fix this then? Thanks and have a good day!

I'd work on sliding up and down in pitch with vocal fry. Your pulse register is below your chest register, so it makes sense that there's a "break" if you're going directly from sub-chest to another register.

Ok, thanks. And by sliding up and down in pitch with vocal fry, do you mean sustaining vocal fry while changing pitch too?

    Yes, correct! Good luck!
